Chapter 7

I collected Lorna and on the way to the Mellon I told her about last night with Tyler and she was so happy that things were working out with him.

“I am so excited about meeting all the pens tonight.” She announces.

“Please just be careful Lorna, you are a beautiful girl and I don’t want any of these guys taking advantage of you.” I tell her, concern evident in my voice.

We continue to chatter all the way there and I was so grateful that I don’t have to hunt for a parking space.

As we sat down to watch the game I heard a group of girls giggling and laughing trying to make me feel intimidated but I couldn’t care what they have to say, I live my life the way I want to, not the way other people want me too.

The game was tense with the Penguins winning in overtime, although it is only a friendly game it would not do much for the guys confidence to lose right now.

Lorna and I stayed in our seats for about half an hour before heading down to the locker room and the security guard told us just to go in.

‘My god I am so nervous.’

I opened the door and focussed by attention on finding TK as I looked around the room and found him standing smiling at me from the far corner. I walked over to where he was buttoning up his shirt making sure only to make eye contact with him.

“Hey Tyler, that was a good game, very close edge of the seat stuff but good all the same.”

I reach up and give him a kiss. I am a noticeably good few inches smaller than him as I am wearing flat soled boots.

“Thanks hunny.”

He put his hands on my shoulders and turned me around.

“Everyone, this is Gill my girlfriend. I wont introduce everyone to you Gill, I am sure you know who everyone is already – oh and this is Lorna, Gills friend.”

I shyly smile at everyone and take a moment to look around the room as they all mutter hellos and nice to meet you. Some of them are still changing while some are all suited and ready to leave for Jordan’s house.

‘These guys make up one hot team, if only to be a fly on the wall during shower time. I bet I am the envy of so many girls right now.’

Lorna was standing staring at Sidney Crosby unsure of what to do or who to speak too.

I nudged TK and whispered “Can you introduce Lorna to Sidney Crosby, she is looking at him like she is trying to under dress him right there and then, I think by the look of things she has a little crush on him.”

“Sid, Gill and I need to go to my house to get my bag for tomorrow before we go to Stalzies as I am staying at hers tonight so would you be able to give Lorna a lift?” TK says to Sidney as he picks up his bag and takes my hand.

“Yeah of course, I need to stop in at my house before hand but if you don’t mind coming with me Lorna?” He asks while looking her up and down, his eyes finally settling on hers.

‘I don’t think I have ever seen Lorna look so shy, she usually has so much confidence and nothing phases her.’

“Yeah that is fine thanks.” Lorna answers her voice barely above a whisper. She turns to me and smiles as TK and I walk towards the door, her face has turned almost as red as her jumper.

“See you soon guys.” TK speaks to everyone as he leaves the locker room still holding my hand.

“Do we really need to go by your house?” I ask as we leave the arena and head to my car.

“No, but I wanted to be alone with you before we headed to Stalzies and I thought Lorna would like to get to know our Sid the Kid a bit better.”

We went and parked the car at the local park and got out to go for a walk, TK took my hand as soon we got out of the car. We walked silently for a while before TK stopped and looked at me, holding both my hands in his own.

“Gill, I know we have only known each other for a couple of days but you have made me feel happier than I have ever done before. I feel comfortable and safe with you and I know that we have a great future ahead of us.

“I just wanted to let you know that I am planning on sticking around, that you are not going to be able to get rid of me very easily.”

He pulled me into him and held me close so I rested my head against his chest listening to his heart beating fast and strong, taking in his scent allowing myself to enjoy the moment.

I stayed there for a few moments before pulling away and looking at him.

“I am glad you are not going anywhere because I want you in my life. I like how I feel when I am with you, I feel secure and I know that I don’t need to be scared anymore.

“Did you get asked at your interviews about the pictures of us leaving the club?”

We continue talking while heading back to the car, again Tyler was holding my hand tightly as if in fear that if he lets go I might run away.

“Oh yeah I meant to talk to you about that, I wanted to talk to you before the game to see what you wanted me to say but because sleepy head over here was not up in time so it slipped my mind until the interviewer asked me about it so I was kind of put on the spot.”

“OK so what did you say?”

“Please don’t get angry with me.” He pleads, gripping my hand tighter.

“I won’t get angry, I promise.” I reply as I climb back into my car and start the engine. My car is a manual as I could not get used to driving an automatic when I moved here.

“Normally I would talk to my agent and ask what his recommendation is but as I said it slipped my mind so I decided to go for it and I confirmed that we left the club together, you dropped me home and left. We then went out for a date and we are indeed a couple now, is that ok?”

“Yeah, that is cool. I will speak to my PR department on Monday and ask them to release a statement saying the same thing.”

“You are amazing Gill, I am so glad I found you.”
