Chapter 37

The wait is finally over...

I enjoyed my day in the office meeting the staff and getting to know them all, I organised lunch for everyone and had a conference with them to explain how things would work and explained that the next day I would hold individual meetings with everyone to make sure that they were happy with everything and to answer any questions they may have.

Tyler had given me some extra tickets to the game tonight so I asked everyone that was interested in getting tickets to put their name in a hat and I would pull out names so needless to say most people were overly excited about this and those that got the tickets were extremely happy.

The day flew by and before I knew it I had to leave to go to the game, I had not even been back to the hotel to change so I just gathered my things and headed to the game. I sat with the others that came from the office and the game started fairly quickly after we arrived.

The game was good and the Penguins won, I knew they would be so excited and I couldn’t wait to get down to the locker room so see them all. I managed to get the people from the office down past security and they all couldn’t thank me enough for taking them to the game and allowing them to meet the team.

“Hey gorgeous, that was such a good game, well done, you must be so pleased that you beat the Red Wings.” I said to Tyler as I approached him.

“It is amazing, I am so happy, lets just hope that we can beat them again but on home ice the next time, just to give ourselves peace of mind after losing the cup to them at home, we will never get over that but we need to prove to ourselves that we can do it and it is strange playing against Hossa after he betrayed us like that then denied it all to the press. You fancy heading out for a few drinks with the team?”

I knew that it was strange for them playing with the likes of Hossa again and playing against the team who broke their dreams so I had a feeling tonight may be a rather drunken night. And that is exactly what it turned out to be, the whole team were wrecked and I had to look after them all and somehow get them all back to the hotel in one piece and back into their own beds, alone may I add!!!

Max being Max wanting to take a girl back to his room with him but I would rather not be involved when he was cheating on his girlfriend.

Eventually once everyone was settled in bed I made my way to my own bed to find Tyler already passed out, I sent Michel a quick text to say that he may have a bit of difficulty getting everyone up in the morning and if he needed me I would be at the office.

I quickly fell asleep only to be wakened up a few hours later to get ready to go into the office. Tyler was still out cold so I kissed his forehead and left him to sleep.

I spent roughly half an hour with each member of staff, each of them asking questions about the changes I have made and complementing my managerial skills saying that everyone is already enjoying work much better and know that they are now much more appreciated. It was nice to hear that my staff were happy. I promised them all I would be back again soon.

I left the office at about 3pm so that I could meet the guys and get a flight back to Pittsburgh before the game against the Flyers tomorrow hoping that they would all be recovered from the previous night. I did not fancy flying home with a hungover bunch of guys.

When I reached the hotel I found the team already waiting in the reception area, most of them with their heads hanging low, faces white and unshaven, I shook my head as I approached them.

“Hey guys, I take it you are all feeling a bit rough today? Well I have no sympathy for any of you, I hope you are all pleased with yourselves.” I didn’t speak to anyone in particular choosing instead to talk to Michel and the other coaches.

I sat on my own at the back of the flight as the guys continued to feel sorry for themselves, as I was working on some documents I decided that I better email my brother back and see when exactly they would be arriving.

‘Hey Andy, how are you? Rosie and Cameron doing well?

So I got your email explaining that you were coming over for a visit, that is cool. Let me know your flight details and if you would like I can collect you all at the airport. Please don’t book hotels, you can stay at my house, there is plenty of room for you all.

Things have been good here, the company is doing well, I have expanded by taking over another company and it is all working out, we are hoping that once all figures etc. have been announced it will make Robertson Publishing the biggest publishing company in the world, it is unbelievable, I will give you a tour of the office etc. if you are interested.

I have also got a boyfriend now, his name is Tyler and I think you will like him, he is a couple of years younger than me but we are like 2 peas in a pod.

Look, I know we have not always seen eye to eye but I am looking forward to seeing you all, hopefully you can understand why I moved away once you get here and see how happy I am.

I closed down the laptop knowing that we would be landing soon. Once we landed the guys all headed off in their own directions and Tyler told me that he was going to head home and would call me later.

“Sorry sweetie, I don’t think I would be very good company at the moment and since you have come no where near me since you finished at the office I guess I am in the bad books so I am going to go and sleep this hangover off and will call you when I get up.”

He leaned in and gave me a small kiss on my cheek and left without saying anything further.

Baby Charlie

Hi everyone.

I feel like all I do is apologise to you all for not updating the story I am so sorry for that.

My baby was born on Friday 19th March 2010 at 0112 AM, we called him Charlie Thomas Robertson and he weighed 8lb 11oz.

Both Mum and Baby are well and settling in at home well. Just trying to get into a routine and get everything packed up ready to move house next week.

I promise once we get into the new house and I get my routine sorted I will get the story updated. I hope you can all be patient with me.
